He added that enhanced collaboration and joint intervention towards mitigating hate speech online and offline were crucial factors for peaceful elections.

Representing the Principal Secretary State Department for Internal Security, PAS Ms. Anne Ng’etich said Kenya has made significant progress in strengthening peace building institutions through policy formulation and capacity building.

“While we have made significant progress in strengthening peace building institutions through policy formulation and capacity building, challenges remain due to limited capacity, perceived political bias, weak coordination and limited capacity for digital peace building and weak financing models. We are also alive to the limited resources for peacebuilding, which has further constrained the effectiveness of the existing institutional arrangements for conflict prevention,” said Ms. Ng’etich.

She concluded by reiterating the Kenya Government’s commitment to the cause for peace in the best interest of the country and future generations.

The two documentaries will be available on UN Kenya and NCIC websites and official social media platforms.
